I'm in your bedroom
Or, you're in mine.
Hi everyone. I’m writing this after the marathon party of one of my best friends, Lauren. We actually were athletes together, once:
The one wearing cargo pants spent the day tracking the other on the worst app ever known to man, then had multiple pumpkin IPA’s to celebrate her after. The blondie directly to my left, wearing proper gear, ran 26.2 miles effortlessly.
Marathon Sunday in New York City is one of my favorite days. Today topped any I had ever had. How lucky are we to have a day that feels like summer in November? I left my house at 8:30 AM and didn’t return until 12 hours later—spending the entire day with my best friends in the most authentic New York way possible—subway surfing from 3rd Ave to Bedford Ave to Union Square to 57th to 23rd, all in the late fall sunlight on a crisp early November morning turned afternoon turned evening. This is why I love fall so much. I wore my On sneakers the entire day. If I’m wearing athletic sneakers in a bar, it’s a momentous occasion. Paired with my Live The Process flare pants, Anine Bing hoodie, and Kith sherpa.
I hadn’t even realized daylight savings happened the night before. I had gone out Wednesday then Thursday then Friday and Saturday was my time to finally relax. I had big plans to do nothing but play Animal Crossing and watch 1-3 true crime documentaries. I cleaned my apartment, got a gel pedicure, went grocery shopping, and made dinner before settling in to watch Gone Girl for my annual rewatch. The sacred text for women who have hated everyone they’ve ever dated. My new glasses finally also came on Saturday. I am very excited about them and considering my optometrist told me my eyes were drying out because of contact usage, it couldn’t be better timing.

On Friday night, I went to Tame Impala at Barclays. I am a Halloween convert and have historically hated it, but for some reason, this year was extremely enjoyable. I loved my plans felt like it was the perfect thing to do. I have loved Tame Impala since college and was really excited to see him live for the first time. The Halloween show seemed to be more special than the others which I felt lucky to experience. This included a new intro sequence, costumes, and them playing Piece of Heaven—perhaps one of the best songs I’ve ever heard in my life. It’s just so romantic. I love when people write or speak about the bedrooms of the people they love. Nothing is more intimate than a bedroom, especially if you’re a young woman. Everyone treats their bedroom differently but loves it all the same. I wonder if anyone has ever felt like Kevin Parker when in my bedroom. I bet not, but it’s fun to feel like they have.
Imogene Krauss, Charli XCX, Lorde, and Demi Lovato’s producer was in charge of Tame Impala’s show, which was truly one of the sickest I’ve ever been to. It’s funny because no one used to know who was behind the magic of a concert until the last three years, but any concert helmed by Imogene seems to be the only concerts that matter. I’m going to Lorde in December, and I’m really excited to see how it differs. This will be my third Imogene show of the year.
Even though it was Halloween, I was kind of exhausted by dressing up, so I just put on heavy eyeliner and a fun hat and my Blonde At Heart tee made by my bestie
.

Tame Impala has very cool merch. I got this zip-up hoodie that says DEADBEAT on the back. It reminds me of something Praying would put out, but cooler because it’s merch, and you all know how much I love merch.
Thursday night was my main event. I had a party to go to at one of my best friend’s family apartments, and her mother knows how to put on a party. I dressed as Little Edie Bouvier Beale because she is the only good Kennedy in my opinion, but added the flare of an Alexander McQueen skull scarf because, why not? This scarf was actually from Amazon. It goes against anything I’ve ever stood for, buying a dupe. There’s a first time for everything.

Truth be told, after this weekend I was perhaps more exhausted than I’ve ever been. That feels silly to discuss considering I started this post about a dear friend who ran 26.2 miles for about 3.45 hours, but I accidentally scheduled myself to do something every night last week. I’m not sure why I do that, as someone who loves solitude. All in all, I’m very lucky to have such amazing friends to do things all of the time, but when my body aches and I haven’t slept more than four hours a night in three nights in a row, things get dicey. I spent Saturday recovering which was much needed, and woke up post-daylight savings (which no one told me about) very refreshed.
I just finished Lukas Gage’s memoir, I Wrote This For Attention, and I highly recommend. I love the memoirs of people who aren’t afraid to admit their faults, to which Lukas has had a few. If you’re a fan of audiobooks and have credits saved up from Spotify Premium from this month, I suggest listening.
I also started Boots on Netflix from the recommendation of my friend Nicholson. I’m actually writing it now as I write this post, and it’s a great show to watch if you have the free time, which apparently, I do. The main character is divisive while adorable and complicated, and it portrays an area I know nothing about—the military.
I have been wearing my Gucci Aphrodite mentioned last week and my Redone jeans as often as I can. I’ve been curating my Christmas list, and added these loafers and these boots because I feel like they are wardrobe staples. I need to fine tune it a little more before I send it off to Santa’s elves.
Celebrity Halloween costumes didn’t exactly wow me this year. I didn’t see the issue with Julia Fox as Jackie Kennedy the same way Bethenny Frankel did. I love that Kaia Gerber and I twinned as Edie. Little Edie is eternal.
I’m debating on getting my pink Christmas Tree out this week. Maybe I will wait until post-Thanksgiving, but I’m not sure I can hold out that long. This post sucks but I’m tired and spent the day in athletic sneakers. I’m not myself and I hope you can all understand that.
Friday is the first installment of the Coffee Order Holiday Gift Guides. I have some very special things planned for this year, and I couldn’t be more excited. The first post is with India Sonnenfeld, one of my best friends from childhood and beyond, and the knitter to the stars indyknitty on Instagram. She is going to share some of her favorite products for gifting, the secret behind her passion project-turned Instagram business, and another VERY special surprise! You won’t want to miss it.
This is truly the most wonderful time of the year—zero exceptions. This weekend proved it. The air is crisp. The leaves are falling. New Yorkers are embracing their heritage. The streets are alive. CAN YOU FEEL IT?

Omg not my mention 🥰🥰🩷
