Oscars 2026 Recap
One Brooch After Another
Last night, we reached the pinnacle of professionalism. The apex of the A-list. The summit of stardom—the Academy Awards.
This was a big night for me in the sense that while it doesn’t affect me personally, it does still affect me on a deeply personal level. Famous people. Fashion. Judgement. Three things I hold terribly deep to my heart.
It took a while for things to get going. If you were a member of the Coffee Order Chat last night, you would know that we really picked up the pace about T-45 mins to showtime, 2 hours deep into the Red Carpet. I would really impose E! Network to do an internal audit on their Red Carpet talent before the next big show rolls around. Keltie Knight was steering a sinking ship.
I analyzed a lot last night both in the chat and on my Instagram Story that’s still live, so if you want a deep dive, go tap on there. For now, let’s just do my high-level favorites and least favorites:
BEST DRESSED
Gwyneth Paltrow in Giorgio Armani Privé
After TWELVE LONG YEARS, GP finally makes a comeback at the Oscars. Extremely classy and chic.
Jacob Elordi in Bottega Veneda
So hot, so Heathcliff. I like the length of the vest in contrast to the jacket. I also really like his face.
Kylie Jenner in Schiaparelli
The hair. The jewels. The bodyodyody! I also love that she recycled this look from 2024:
Outfit repeater representation we all needed. Did anyone catch her face card in the show opening? Insanely gorgeous.
Teyana Taylor in Chanel
Not your grandmother’s Chanel!!! This train!!! Obsessed.
Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton
Hot off of my favorite award show look of all time:
Emma Stone and her Louis Vuitton contract have added another look into my inspo rolodex.
Ji-young Yoo in Carolina Herrera
I adore this shape for occasions such as the Academy Awards. It’s one of the few times you can wear it, and I love that Ji-young capitalized on it. Ear cuff, fierce. Bob, fierce.
WORST DRESSED
Demi Moore in Gucci
Need I explain further?
Jessie Buckley in Chanel
I knew this looked familiar…
Damson Idris in Prada
This looks like a costume from the set of Bridgerton and not seasonally appropriate.
Law Roach in Chanel (?)
Zendaya—help.
Odessa A’zion in Valentino
I would’ve loved to see her stunt here. I’m glad that she stays true to herself, but I think she could’ve done that in a more couture way.
Conan was a great host. I’m glad someone finally got an adult in the room. I have trauma from Trevor Noah’s latest Grammys. I won’t bore you all with my feelings about Sinners once again. I already bought my tickets to The Devil Wears Prada 2. I’m going to pre-order the popcorn bucket.
I had quite the lovely weekend. On Friday, I grabbed a bite with some of my dear coworkers at Gator in Greenpoint, a spot that’s long been on my list. Bernie’s basically laughed at us when we asked how long the wait was (at 7:30, nonetheless). Gator serves their burger without fries (there aren’t even fries on the menu), but it was delicious and so were the miso bean and golden beet appetizers.
Saturday, I woke up early—to my dismay—and did some chores before walking across the Williamsburg Bridge to meet my friend Eva for brunch at Rose Marie. This was another place on my list, from the owners of Yellow Rose in the East Village. I’ve been craving a bloody mary for a few weeks (your guess is as good as mine), so I squashed that before also having a shortstack of pancakes that came with some tassels.

Eva and I walked back over the bridge to pop into Café Forgot, where I’ve had my eyes on a hat for a while. It was the last one left which means that it was meant to be mine—that my head was the only one for it—and I took a brief break in Sandy Liang before being convinced to go back and get it by Eliza, reporting via text from Palm Springs. I can’t remember the last time a purchase made me this happy.
I then met my friends Lauren and Mia for a quick dinner at Taqueria Gramercy—the best deal in the city—before walking home, watching half of Two Lovers, and passing out at 10 pm sharp. I slept like a baby, which was long needed, made some chicken salad for the week, logged on for the Oscars, and the rest is history.
The cold is back this week but I won’t let it break my spirit. The laundry I have to fold before bed might, though.

Totally agree with your Oscar outfit assessments!
