The staycation of my dreams
A summary of my twenty-four hours at Hotel Chelsea.
This weekend, I enjoyed a beautiful staycation at the Hotel Chelsea.
Hotel Chelsea is my favorite place in Manhattan. I love the building itself, I love the restaurant, Cafe Chelsea, the spa is the best spa I’ve ever been to, and the bar room feels like you’ve been transported back in time. I love it for all of the reasons in between Patti Smith and Taylor Swift, I love the idea that artists still live there and that it could potentially be haunted.
We decided to have a little girls weekend, where we would not leave the hotel for twenty-four hours, eat, drink, relax, and slip within Hotel Chelsea and all of her glory.
Packing list:
A matching pajama set
My ‘blonde at heart’ t-shirt from my dear friend, Elizabeth

Every part of it was magnificent. I love escaping from my city in my city, and the Hotel Chelsea always feels like a true getaway. My recommendations there are as follows:
Bonnie, the esthetician, at the Spa
A drink called The Edie at the Lobby Bar
The croquets at Cafe Chelsea for dinner
The soufflé for dessert
The croque monsieur and the green juice for breakfast
I left the Hotel Chelsea skin glowing, melancholic like the day after a concert, and daunted by the week ahead. Returning back to reality, and by reality, I mean the Lower East Side Trader Joe’s, was bleak. Two of my favorite things in the entire world are hotel breakfasts and spa’s. I don’t know the next time I’ll be able to enjoy either of those things, but I hope it’s soon.
I’m in the midst of four shows that all come out at the same time, so for five days of the week, I have nothing to watch. Today, I watched the first Sex and the City movie, the Extended Cut. This movie provides a great sense of comfort, and is a billion hours long. It has about eight plot points, and fits about a full season’s worth of content into the whole thing. Tonight, I plan on getting wonton soup and spring rolls from my favorite Sunday spot, North Dumpling. Perhaps I’ll watch something a bit more indie, or a documentary about the insurrection or something, because there is no in between for me.
My big and spontaneous purchase of the week were these furry mules from Lisa Says Gah, I kept getting served Instagram ads about them and after envisioning many outfits they would be perfect for, claimed them as mine. I now solemnly swear that I will not purchase another pair of shoes for at least three months. I used AfterPay, so now I’m indebted to them for the foreseeable future.
Severance is taking over my life. I have about five hours of housewives reunions to look forward to, and I’ve been water coloring at night to escape from my screens.
I also, for the first time, gifted a bouquet made by me. I brought one to my friend Seth for his birthday, and I decided that this is going to be a signature move from me for now on.
Those are all of my updates, for now. More to come next week.
