Things I liked: March
Monthly favorites episode 1.
Much like the beauty gurus that came before me (who remembers Ashley and I’s joint YouTube channel ‘BHBabes97(was it that 97?)’), each month I’ll be sharing my monthly favorites of affordable, random things that I am overly obsessed with, probably never to be used once the clock strikes April.
I don’t make any money off of these links, my mom is probably going to text me and tell me to set up an affiliate account somewhere, somehow, but literally these links will just take you to the good old website they live on.
1. Air Max 97’s
I got Air Max 97’s for Christmas in what I believe was 2019, and I’ve been wearing them probably 3-4 times a week ever since. They’re truly the most comfortable lifestyle sneaker I’ve ever worn, I always get compliments on them, and they’ve never looked dirty because of the fact that the outside is plastic, not fabric.
I have this specific Knicks collaboration New York Or Nowhere tote bag, but I linked in the title all of the normal ones in case you don’t want to give the ‘I’m not like other girls I like sports and street culture’ vibe that I so desperately do while trying to find a boyfriend at art school. Anyway. I got this bag at the Knicks game over winter break because I thought it was cute, and I literally have been using it every day for class. The quality is fantastic, the graphics are cool, and it holds 10 notebooks, my laptop, my iPad, my headphones, and any other miscellaneous items that I lug to class.
3. Pimple patches from good light beauty
There’s nothing more I love than a good pimple patch. When I was wearing masks on a regular basis, I used to sport butterflies, hearts, you name it, on my face. While I still shamelessly will in a casual setting, sometimes I don’t want a star on my chin while I’m out to eat or on a Zoom call. The brand good light beauty created these vegan hydrocolloid patches that are nearly invisible unless someone is real up close and personal, and the best part about them is that they work!
4. Baggus
I joke with my friends that every time they deserve a gift, I will be presenting a Baggu. This most recently came into fruition during our Secret Santa exchange, when I blessed Hartley with three. Three is not enough. I need 100. They are literally the perfect, most affordable-chic reusable bag on the planet. I take mine to class, the grocery store, the beach, the pool, the dentist, literally anywhere I can.
5. The Bitch Bible podcast
This is free. It should cost $100 per episode, but I hope Jackie Schimmel never sees this and takes that advice. I have never laughed out loud so hard. March is a weird month when you’re in college because there’s spring break, finals if you go to a school on trimester, and it’s just a little hectic. I often found myself by my lonesome, trying to get things done without feeling too isolated. Jackie is the cure.
